Jan 07, 2008General database error retrieving information (Link Controller ISSUE)
Dear all
I am configuring Link Controller for inbound and outbound load balancing.
Local Traffic portion of configuration working fine. (i.e. Virtual Servers, Pools and all) but when i configure Link Controller portion of configuration, its not working.
i am trying to create Links and WideIps but not successful.
i think my Link Controller Module is not communicating with Local Traffic Module.
when i used following command
[root@lc:Active] config bigip_add self
Retrieving remote and installing local BIG-IP's SSL certs ...
Enter root password for self if prompted
ssh: self: Temporary failure in name resolution
ERROR: Can't read remote cert via /usr/bin/ssh.
==> Done <==
[root@lc:Active] config
Can any one help me to solve this
Thanks in advance

Hi,
It looks like 'self' isn't recognized as a host on your unit. bigip_add expects an IP address or resolve-able hostname. You could use localhost or 127.0.0.1.
Out of curiosity, why are you running bigip_add against the local unit?
Also, the title of your post mentions a general database error. I assume you're seeing this in the GUI when trying to access a configuration section. Which section is that? What are the errors logged in /var/log/webui.log when you get the error?
