Feb 06, 2009Gateways for internal external traffic
I've got a new pair of 1600's and trying to figure out how to setup gateways between the internal/external networks where the 1600's live. See the attached diagram. It is the 66.66.66.193 and 66.66.66.190 gateways and routing I'm trying to create. The purpose of these is to allow the machines that will reside on the two networks to use a second gateway besides their default giving them a direct path to each other and by firewalls and going through the load balancers front end.
I think the diagram attached explains this better than i have..

You actually are going to want to create forwarding IP virtual servers to talk between them. The F5 is like a firewall and needs to be told to forward packets between networks. - Doug_24189

It will be a Forwarding VIP with a destination IP address of 0.0.0.0 netmask 0.0.0.0
All VLANs - No SNAT unless you want to perform a Hide NAT or a PAT type of functionality.
Also, you might want to check System/General Properties/Local Traffic General and allow SNAT for all traffic - This will allow you to test PING through the new forwarding Virtual server.
