Jul 18, 2007for switch vs member
we know the F5 can swtich traffic from failing member to good member quickly (almost 5 ms),now the guest want to add the delay into the process of the swiching process,so would we can change the switch process timing for any way?
- Deb_Allen_18Historic F5 AccountIf you mean the failover from active to standby LTM, networks failover takes several seconds longer than serial failover, but other than that, there is no way to affect the failover timing

because the custmer want use ltm for load balance database, u know the dababase server unload timing is so long ,they want increasing time for the database swtiching. thk u for u replay.waiting for u helping. - Deb_Allen_18Historic F5 AccountFor failing servers over more slowly, I think the only option that might work for you is the "Manual Resume" feature in 9.4: (Click here)

I do not think there is a way to accomplish this. BIG-IP is designed to move things over quickly. It was not designed to do things slowly. If there is a manual process involved in failing the databases over, then the BIG-IP failover could be manual as well. - yan_haijin_3492

manually maybe can swich to the good server, but somebody must monitor the f5 ltm,and swtich the monitor by himself, I want the f5 ltm swtich the server auto, just waiting for sereval minutes. - James_Thomson

You will need to write a custom monitor in PERL, shell or compiled C to accomplish this. - James_Thomson
