Thank Vitaliy.... also what is the criteria in terms of volume or the no. of days for which the logs are saved on the F5 box. Like either it will save the logs for these many days or this much volume which ever is first achieved??

Hey Vitalily just wanted to ask one thing on the same thread can we increase or decrease the size of file that is stored by the box for one day?

additionally to nitass answer, if you want to rotate logs depending on file size you may remove daily parameter from conf file and left parameter "size". How often you need to run logrotate depend on how your log files grow.

not sure if i understand your question correctly.
by default, log is rotated by time (e.g. daily). if you want to rotate log by size, you have custom logrotate configuration (e.g. size command) and run it more frequently in crontab.

Hi Nitass,
My question was is there a particular size of the daily logs file? lets say the box is going to store logs of up to 200MB and if more is received either it will be dropped or is it like the box will just save the last 200MB received? Secondly if the daily logs file size is fixed to certain value can this be increased?? if yes how

if log partition is full, new log cannot be written to log file.
Secondly if the daily logs file size is fixed to certain value can this be increased??
no, log file is not fixed by size. it is rotated according to logrotate configuration.
