floating self ip query

hello , We have a enviroment with 2 F5 LB , we keep on moving them from active/active to active/ standby One Vlan is configured to use floating self ip on Unit 2 . When we keep in active active I understand traffic for vlan 2 will be primary on Unit2 . My query is when we change it to active/ standby what happens as unit 2 is floating ip for that vlan and we have made unit2 as standby device . Hope I am able to explain my query

  • Hi,

Both units have floating IP for a VLAN in a cluster.

If it's not you can't have a cluster, you will have two standalone units even if they are synchronized.

In a active/active scenario, you have at least 2 traffic group and each memeber is active for a traffic group.

Is it ok for you with this response ?
