Apr 04, 2008Floating IP - Multicast Mac Address
Hello!!
I was wondering if is there any way to configure a floating IP address to respond with a multicast MAC address.
I've got a redundant system active / active and if the connection of one of them fails, I've got to wait until the router and switch learns the new MAC addresses until the "secondary" F5 begins to receive traffic.
Regards,
Javier.

You can configure mac masquerading on the vlan for HA pairs so that the mac that is advertised is identical and only shared by the active unit. - hoolio

I'm not sure that BIG-IP would support configuring a multicast MAC address or using MAC masquerading for an active-active pair.
