Fl oating IP address

Need help in creatinf floating IP address.     I have a redundant system and need to create a floating Ip. Do i need to create this floating IP in both the units or just doing it in active ...

If you create the static self IP address on each unit and the floating self IP on the active unit, you can sync from active to standby and all shared config (including floating self IP addresses) will be synch'd to the peer.
