  • Hi Ethan,

I don't believe there is a migration doc available. As the article was written a year ago so I doubt one will be provide. I know that the F5 Professional Services have a migration package to offer customers (http://www.f5.com/pdf/professional-services/firepass-apm-migration-services-ds.pdf).

With a migration from FirePass to APM one has to realize that the products work on totally different software platforms. Hence you will not get a like for like. (i.e. APM does not have the concept of Master Groups or Resource groups). Instead you have a VPE in APM which allows you to customize what resources a user will have access to. Another example is that FirePass has Web services, in APM you have virtual servers. Therefore the migration will most likely be a manual process.

  • Yeah - I have been reading it was going to be a manual process. The XML configuration export utility mentioned in the article is a good way to get the configuration in a legible form. I was hoping to use the exported info along with the guide, hoping the guide would be in a step-by-step format and would reference the exported info.

Here is a "in 5 minutes or less" video on the XML configuration export utility
