F5OS (rseries 2800) in transparent mode
- Nov 11, 2025
It's okay now I just need to choose the portgroup that I need and set up its profile. iAfter that I can use those interfaces in my tenant.
Near heard of this to be honest an you have not provided a lot of info what is the "transparent" mode option means for you? Like vcmp there are configured/provisioned and deployed modes but this was the same with F5 vCMP and and the first 2 modes F5 does not process client traffic so they seem not the right thing. Maybe see as well https://techdocs.f5.com/en-us/f5os-a-1-8-3/f5-rseries-systems-administration-configuration/title-network-settings.html as if you mean vWire option that was there in iSeries as well.
I F5 AWAF/ASM has transparent mode but has nothing to do with F5OS itself as this feature is there in a long time.

Hello,
Thank you for your answer.
When I said transparent mode it's like the equipment will act like a layer 2 device.
Thank you for the link , I will read it and come back to you.

Layer 2 like STP switch or Layer 1 (the virtual wire) ? See the link and also https://clouddocs.f5.com/training/community/rseries-training/html/rseries_networking.html

layer 2 like a bridge for the input and output interfaces.
