F5 VIP and Microsoft Direct Access
I setup Microsoft Direct Access on a single server behind the F5. I then added another DA server to form a cluster and during that setup process I was asked to choose a new static IP for the DA server so it can take the current static one and make it a VIP for the external load balancing. What purpose does that VIP server me? The F5 and DA server are on different subnets so the VIP they gave me wouldnt work anyway. I just put the static IP's of the DA servers in the pool as members and load balance them from there. Am I missing something here? Thanks.

It sounds to me like the clustering uses its own load balancing features so the cluster can appear as a single host so perhaps its not required as you are using the F5 for that?
