F5 LTM Default Gateway operation

I am a novice when it comes to F5. So this may be a very basic question. We have an F5 LTM 3600 (11.6.0) that is acting as a default gateway for one subnet (192.168.0.0/24). Devices on this subnet appear to be able to hit just about any resource on our network. But when I look at our Cisco devices there is no route to this network anywhere. So I am unable to ping that particular network from our LAN. The reason I am looking into this is that this subnet cannot hit a device on our DMZ. So I am trying to determine how this subnet is able to communicate with other subnets on my LAN when there is no route. Does the F5 mask the actual IP address(i.e. 192.168.0.20/24) with a routable IP address? Any help to understand how this solution operates would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need additional info.

  • Hello,

Yes, F5 can handle this. You need to check if there is some forwarding Virtual Server or if there is SNAT features activated within your Virtual servers.
