F5 LB with single physical server and multiple port
hi all,
we have a loadbalancer connected to a nexus 7k using a single vlan (vlan2). the nexus is connected to a single physical server with 2 different interface IP (x.x.242.236 and x.x.243.239). the interface with IP 242.236 has the default gateway configured to its next hop while the interface ip 243.239 has a static route configured to the ip of F5.
when the static route is removed, the pool 242.236 will be up, while the other is down but when we configured back the static route, the pool 242.236 will be down and the other will go up.
the monitor used is the default TCP monitor. we want to make both pool available.
need your expertise on this issue.
Thank you.

Hi Mr. Shiraz,
the F5 is in active-standby mode.
the self ip are 10.199.105.13 and 14 while the floating ip is 12.

Why are you using multiple interfaces in the server to host applications?

So, you have the following design:
Client ______ F5 _____ Nexus ____ | | |__ Serveur ___|
Is there any firewall protection on your server like Anti-spoofing?

so the problem is a asymmetric routing on the server side. To get both IP's of the server marked as active, you will need a NAT device in one path to hide the BigIP self IP. For the server it must look like the BigIP monitor request comes from two different devices.
