F5 Health Monitor
Have a query on health monitors. Help says below.
Displays the number of seconds the target has in which to respond to the monitor request. The default is 16 seconds. If the target responds within the set time period, it is considered up. If the target does not respond within the set time period, it is considered down. When this value is set to 0 (zero), the system uses the interval from the parent monitor. Note that Timeout and Time Until Up combine to control when a resource is set to up.
My query is what happens in case of wrong response received by server. Like ECV getting response of 404 instead of 200 OK.
Would F5 mark the server down on the very first response or it would try for two more times ?
My understanding is F5 would do three attempts.
Hello Maneesh,
In my opinion you are right, the monitor will wait for correct response till the third attempt, if the timers are with default settings, before mark object down.
