F5 Hardware Questions Guru Panel - Feb 12, 2013

I have a few although I'm not sure they will be of interest to many;

 

 

1) Is there a list of the FIPS/SSL card hardware used in the bigger models?

 

2) Are there any details on ePVA anywhere?

 

3) I'm not sure if it's a hardware imposed restriction but if it is, will the switch fdb limit of 8k ever be raised?

 

4) Any chance of an RJ45 console interface anytime soon?

 

5) Any chance of hardware RAID anytime soon?

Thank you Jason, and Colin and the panel. Very informative although I'm not sure I'm happy with the response to 5). I understand the general point regarding other HA features but I think this is a big omission; hopefully it'll move down the stack as time passes. Also, regarding the FDB limit, whatever the reason, I'd say this will become a blocker (think multi-tenancy, hyper-scale etc.) sooner rather than later; again, hopefully it'll be addressed as time passes. Regardless, thanks as ever for the 'personal' touch and that sense that as the user/customer, we have a voice and we matter.
