F5 DNS -> Named

Good afternoon everyone, I face a problem when one of the pool members in DNS is down but Zone runner sends all members of the pool to named.

Here's the slave named file looks like

$ORIGIN staging.example.com. testA205.65.105.200 A205.83.246.200

When I do a direct request to F5 it returns only one pool member which is correct.

nslookup test.staging.example.com 172.21.1.4 Server:172.21.1.4 Address:172.21.1.453

  Name: test.staging.example.com
  Address: 205.83.246.200

Any suggestions on that?

    Tell me If I got your environment right.

     

    Currently 205.65.105.200 is down and 205.83.246.200 is UP.

     

    And the zrd is running on your setup. When you create the wideip with the pools with 2 VS in it, the zone records gets auto-created with both the A records. This is the expected behavior. And its right in your case too when you checked the db file.

     

    And even the resolution seems to give the record which is active.

    Any suggestions? How should I query for only on closest pool through bind? I believe it's impossible since F5 exports static named zones.

     

    The only one way is to query specifically F5 from the client?
