F5 box how to check hard disk error

Hi All,

 

I'm in the mid of troubleshooting of my dev box. I need to check the health of my hard disk F5 box. I was suggested to use

 

man e2fsck command

Can anybody tell me what is the impact of this command on the device.

 

or what action we can take to do so and do corrective measure to prevent any degradation.
