F5 Application Security Manager Reverse Proxy Feature

Hi All,

 

I am a bit new to F5. Please help me confirm if F5 ASM (11.5.0) appliance includes Reverse Proxy Feature as a part of the default feature set. I am asking this as in Datasheet there is no mentioning of the same.

    As long as your license includes LTM, then you'll have reverse proxy capability. I'm not sure it's possible to have ASM without LTM, so this shouldn't be an issue.

      F5 has standalone ASM appliances I dont know if that has reverse proxy feature as a part of it. Thats's why I raised the question.

      The architecture of Big-IP is a proxy architecture. I run a stand alone ASM and yes traffic running through it is proxied, you get limited LTM functionality without a license for LTM, basically you are missing all the Load Balancing capability if you don't license LTM.

    LTM is at the core of ASM so even if you have a box only with ASM module on it it has come level of LTM features enabled...
