F5 APM Logout URI
General qns - the Logout URI option in the APM policy configuration, does this search for a logout URI that we provide and then end the session and bounce the user back to the main login page of the policy??

if there is a match "1-to-1" (wildcard is not supported in the Logout URI option), it will end the APM session and the user will see the session ended page. I've opened a RFE to add support for wildcard in Logout URI.
Reference: ID440234 - [RFE][APM] add support for * wildcard character inside Logout URI
If you would find that useful, please open a support ticket and link it to that ID.. it would speed up its implementation :-)
