Does using APM for Citrix XenApp deployment , provides getting away with the Citrix Secure/Access Gateway software/appliance. From the documentation it seems like APM provides SSL Termination, Proxy ...

Yes, APM most certaily eliminates the need for Citrix Access Gateway, as it can perform Secure ICA proxy functionality itself.
