Hi,
We are migrating to Exchange 2007 from another mail server and have purchased an LTM HA pair to optimize the connectivity for clients connecting to Exchange. I wanted to know from the people that are currently doing the same, how they are using it? Primarily for outside clients coming into the network from the internet and hitting Exchange OWA and ActiveSync? Internal clients connecting over the LAN? Or both?
We have a distributed network connecting each location with metro ethernet at varying speeds depending on location(10mb,100mb and a couple 1gb) and all apps are served from one of two datacenters that are also on this private network. My intent is to push all client access internally through the LTMs load balancing between a couple CAS servers in VM. We have another LTM pair in the DMZ currently handling outside connections to our webservers and that can be configured to handle remote OWA and ActiveSync connections.
My question is, does this sound realistic? Is it overkill to use it for connections on the internal network? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I am currently going through the deployment guide for reference.
Thank you,
Scott
