Error when trying to open a file in Sharepoint using word

I used the IAPPS for Sharepoint 2013 to create the sharepoint VIP I also created a officewebapp vip using the latest IAPPS for officewebapp First, I get auth via the APM and I am able to browse sharepoint and browse the file system in sharepoint. I am able to open PDF files. however, when I try to open a file that is in word I get the following error in the browser: Microsoft Word ! Sorry , we couldn't open 'https://portal.immunetolerance.org/IT/shared IT Documents/MGH review/MGH review Contacts.docx' I am wondering if someone our there has ran into a similar issue.
