EPSEC APM

Hello is it possible to keep APM module working without epsec definitions ? In our organisation, the antivirus posture feature for APM is not required, and the epsec iso file takes a lot of space (100MB) in our backups.

thank you.

  • Hi,

You cannot remove the EPSEC file from the webui. You need to have at least one.

I assume that it can be removed from the cli, but I don't know the behavior of APM after.

I found my packages here :

    /shared/apm/images/epsec-1.0.0-415.0.iso
    /shared/apm/images/epsec-1.0.0-386.0.iso
    /var/sam/images/epsec-1.0.0-430.0.iso

And I just checked, the packages are not included in my ucs backups. So where are your packages located ?

  • Hi

I think am facing the same issue as OM, I am getting the following message:

011d0004:3: Disk partition var has only 0% free

I noticed that the /var partition is being used for backups but I can't do anymore backups as the /var partition has no more space available, the EPSEC files are stored in /shared/apm/images folder which is different from the /var folder, but note that (at least in my case) there is another file in the /var/sam/images subdirectory which contains the file that is current used as the installed copy of the EPSEC and this one is in the following path /shared/apm/images and its name is epsec-1.0.0-403.0.iso, so it looks like it can't be deleted as per JTI in order to delete it you need to make sure the EPSEC file is not being used. Even if I can delete the other files that are in the /shared/apm/images folder still I won't be able to get extra space in the /var partition.

I will appreciate if someone can help me make extra space in the /var partition.
