Dynamic bandwidth management at layer 2 and High availibility

it might be a weird question for a F5 forum, but why use a BIG-IP for this? while it seems possible, i wouldn't think of BIG-IP as the first choice when considering bandwidth shaping.

then as a second question who is helping you with this if you are not sure about licenses yet? (while you seem sure about the platform ...) i would advice you to involve your F5 local sales or F5 partner and let them guide you, that's what they are there for.

1) as for your questions, bandwidth shaping seems to be done on virtual servers, not interfaces.

2) the article on the layer 2 virtual server mentions something about what else is needed at Recommendations

3) can't find a good resource for layer 2 and high availability (this is one of the reasons why i wonder if it is smart to go this way, there aren't many layer 2 BIG-IP deployments, so knowledge is less, both in the community and with support) but i think the main question would be what do you expect of high availability?
