Hello Sam,
(This applies to LTM only, not too experienced with GTM) Looking through the associated SOL, I don't show that connections will still be sent to the server once it is listed down in the pool.

Thanks Dareuja.
I was wondering if the same case applies for gtm as well when applied with persistence.

GTM persistence works different from LTM pools;
see following:
Persistence TTL: Persistence TTL specifies, in seconds, the length of time for which the persistence entry is valid. The default is 3600.
Drain Persistent Requests
Drain Persistent Requests is an additional global configuration that affects persistence behavior for all wide IPs with persistence enabled. Enabled by default, this setting is specifies that when you disable a pool or data center, load-balanced persistent requests will continue until the time-to-live (TTL) interval expires.
