Does persistance connection stays while we perfrom a failover ?

I am performing a patch upgrade on one of our Production LTM , current version we are running is v10.2.1 final we will be installing v10.2.1 HF13. Hardware - F3410.

 

This device has more than 150 Virtual servers and business is more curious on the failover impact .

 

Question - While I perform the failover to the peer unit after the patch install- 1. While we perform the failover , does all the active connections disconnect and reconnect when the unit become active causing an outage? 2. Does the persistence table or record get cleared or changed on peer unit which is standby now? If so the LTM need to rebuild perstance table after failover.
