dns zone proxy authoritative dns server info

Hi there, how does the big-ip know where to send the transfer request in a dns zone proxy configuration? I don' t see anywhere in the guides where to add this info for the authoritative dns server? Is the virtual server address and port supposed to be the same as the authoritative dns server?
