DNS delegation from BigIP to third party (not delegating to GTM)

Hey guys,

 

When using the BigIP as a full DNS server, is it possible to delegate a sub domain from the BigIP to a third party box that is authoritative for the delegated domain?

 

If delegation is not possible, would creating a stub zone work? I can create a stub zone, but creating a NS resource record fails for that stub zone, the error msg is '01150b21:3: RCODE returned from query: 'SERVFAIL'.'

 

root@(bigip)(cfg-sync Standalone)(ModuleNotLicensed:Active)(/Common)(tmos) show sys version

    Hi,

     

    Have you found the root cause of this issue? I face the similar issue but on a different situation. My GTM is suddenly giving the same error message '01150b21:3: RCODE returned from query: 'SERVFAIL' everytime we try to open the ZoneRunner for a specific domain. We have 3 domain configured, two domain can be opened normally, but one domain always show this error when we try to open it.

    Hey, sorry I just read this. I was told by Support that it is possible to delegate a subdomain to another DNS server, but this will have to be done in BIND, which is interfaced through ZoneRunner.

     

    I didn't get a chance to look into my previous issue, so I don't know what was causing it.
