Disabling a server in BIG-IP versions prior to 10.2.0
Hello,
According to SOL12818 disabling server in a pool is possible when ECV is used. What i want to achieve: - i have a pool where have 4 servers, lets say that server folks want to put one server into maintenance, but they want to allow all already active users on that pool member to log off or just simply drain of the connection. In the ltm version 10.2.0 there is a feature receive string disable that tells bigip to disable this pool member, how to achieve the same on 9.4?

Hi,
I cannot remember when the receive string disable feature was introduced.
But as operator you can set your poolmembers to "disabled" state manually via WebUI or bigpipe command as described in AskF5 SOL7566.
Alternatively you can build a so called external monitor which runs the necessary bigpipe commands.
In any case your BIG-IP units will be out of sync.
Thanks, Stephan

Hello Stephan,
thx for reaply and sorry for a delay. Do You have an example of such a monitor with bigpipe commands, can this be adjusted somehow?

basically is it possible to put pool member in disabled status when spedcified string will be found instead of putting it UP?
