Hello Team,
I wonder if f5 is able to monitor to servers intermitently For example ; we have a pool and the pool has 4 members and f5 will take down them and up periodically example ;in 15 muntes
for example; member x down
and after 15 minutes member x up
and after 15 minutes member x down
Do you think How can we perform the monitoring ?
thank you in advance.

Can you post the configured send and receive strings? When the monitor marks the server(s) as down, can you check whether they are in fact responding by doing a telnet test from the BIG-IP to the relevant port and entering the send string. - nitass

besides external monitor, i think irule can make it too by calculating on time (e.g. mod). the following is discussion in the past. although it is not exactly what you are asking, it might be helpful.

Hello,
no receive string and send string with monitor you can just consider the http monitor also we don't wan to schecule any time on the irule because we just want to mark down some members of existing pool and so the other production members that are in the pool will not be affected like rejection or discarding . is that possible ?
thank you

Hello Steve,
suppose , there is a poool and that has 4 members ok. And then one of the members will marked down and up through script monitor.
example: x member will be marked down then up then down and this processing periodically will be proceeded like 15 minutes.
is it possible ? since I have not more info about scripting I need your support about this matter
thank you in advance

Apologies but I'm still having problems understanding you I'm afraid. You want a script to mark Pool Members up and down on a periodic basis? If so, why? - waterfall_10467
