Jun 21, 2013Creating a HA pair between two different subnets
We have two 1600's been delivered and I've been asked to put them into a HA pair across two different datacentres using two different management subnets. Is this even possible? I've been looking at creating a tunnel between the two F5s but am struggling to come up with a design that would work

tmm (selfip) subnet is same, isn't it? yes, it is possible. anyway, you may have to fine-tune network failover timer.
sol7249: Configuring the network failover timer
http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/7000/200/sol7249.html - Yes, you need to set each LTM to use a VLAN that is stretched between DCs for failover/connection mirroring, but mgmt can certainly be on different subnets.
