    Hi Wangala,

Have you following the guidelines in the SAP Portal deployment guide ? Guides for BIG-IP V9 and V10 are located here:http://www.f5.com/solutions/applications/sap/netweaver/how You will find a section on cookie persistence.

The best option is to allow BIG-IP to insert and manage its own cookies if you are using the standard virtual servers as described in the guide. You could also configure session persistence by using the SAP inserted cookie "saplb_= . You would have to use an HTTP header inspection utility such as Liveheaders or HTTPWatch to confirm the presence and name of this cookie on your system.

My recommendation is to follow the suggestions in the deployment guide and have BIG-IP manage the cookies for you.

  • Hi Nojan,

Thank You for your reply, we are currently using MYSAPSSO2 cookie, is this the right one we need to use for SAP enterprise portals, if we are using the saplb_groupI.D what does the group I.D determine?.

    Thanks

groupId will be unique for your installation and you will have to examine your traffic to determine the actual cookie. The value will not change unless your landscape changes.

If you are having "timeout" or session loss issues though, I would still highly recommend letting BIG-IP manage the cookies for you.
