Configuring syslog to minimize delays when sending remote log messages

Hi,

I am having trouble finding my syslog config setting for time_reopen, as this SOL suggests changing it if it falls under certain conditions: http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/100/sol13160.html

I don't want to change it without knowing what it's set at now. Here are the places I've looked: /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf

tmsh sys syslog show show running-config syslog all-properties non-default-properties

  • From the article, the default delay is 60 seconds. And it is recommended not to lower the value below 10 seconds.

The below article provides good additional understanding http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/7000/300/sol7342.html
