Configuring SAML SP...getting same error no matter what

What does this error indicate in general? I can't seem to get past it and I have tried every method of configuring SAML SP that I can think of...   error: Canonicalization of authentication reques...

To me it sounds like there is a signing issue. I would review on both sides who signs what and who is expecting what to be signed.
