Nimbostratusconfigure subnets for virtual servers
what are the basic requirements to use IPs from a subnet as vritual servers on bigip. I understand self ips are needed on traffic interfaces to talk to servers in those specific subnets. Can we use subnets not configured for self ips are virtual servers? If so, what are the requirements.
Eg - subnet 1 - ip from this configured as selfip on interface1 subnet 2 - ip from this configured as selfip on interface2 subnet 3 - ips from this are to be used as virtual IPs, what are the requirements?

I generally recommend to have the virtual server IPs configured on a network that does not exist elsewhere. This eliminates the need for the BIG-IP to gratuitously ARP for virtual server IPs, which in large configurations could be viewed as a flood, and most firewalls are designed to drop GARP. The only requirement is to configure a static route from the upstream L3 device to the floating IP of the BIG-IP for the subnet that you are using for virtual server IPs.

There is no need for it to be used for any self IPs. You will use an existing Self IP/Floating Self IP to point the route from the upstream device.
