Combined SMTP & HTTPS monitor

Hello all !   I'm struggling with monitor configuration to put down a pool of SMTP servers when the HTTPS service running on the same backend servers doesn't answer correctly to the monitor checks...

Hi Gerald,

 

Can you give me more information about the backend server (it is exchange?)...

 

You have to create 2 monitor:

 

  • One monitor smtp
  • And another one HTTPs that point on https protocole.

Yon can't create an HTTPs monitor that point on smtp port (25). It's not the same protocol and the response the answer will not be understood by F5.

 

So create 2 monitors for each protocol and set both monitor on you pool.
