cisco terminal console connection
Hello folks,
I could not find any information about cisco terminal console server setup and I'm not sure what is recommended cabling. ok, we have cisco router acting as terminal server with async octal(octopus) cable with 8 RJ45 end connectors. when I connect one rj45 cable from octal to rj45 console on LTM 4000 will it work ??? or is there any requirement for some adapter ? or ..... ?
Thank you Marian

You can find the relevant pinout information on the RJ45 port on the 4000 series here: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/b4000-platform/1.html (over half way down).
These seem to match the Cisco cable specification I found here (granted for DB25 connectors but I'm sure nothing has changed but that): http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/dial-access/asynchronous-connections/14958-24.html and as the cables are 'rolled' I think you should be just fine without any adapters.
