Can't we create the Virtual servers without profiles through iControl API

Dear Friends,

 

Can we create the Virtual server without profiles though icontrol APIs? When i create the virtual server without profile, Virtual server creation fails without any error. Any resolution to capture the errors/exceptions and how to handle such a failures
