Can't maximize RDP sessions with internet explorer - APM
I see a few similar posts on here about this but no definitive answer. I have Microsoft Remote Desktop shortcuts on my APM and they connect fine and maximize, but if you exit full screen, then it locks the screen to a small size. You can't resize or even maximize again and the maximize button becomes greyed out. Pretty unusable after that point. I thought this might be a bug when I was running 11.4 but I have upgraded to 11.6 and have the same issue. Anybody had the same issues and know how to fix this?
Thanks
what do you mean with it is happening with windows 2012 server only?
this thread is about being unable to full screen via the maximize button, but you do something to leave full screen in general, or else you might be able to configure it to start with full screen or disable leaving full screen as suggested below by Seth Cooper.

End user unable to maximize RDP and frustrated like anything. We have BIG-IP 12.1.2 Build 0.93.249 Engineering Hotfix.
We are facing same issue, I have tried "Ctrl+Alt+Break" option but it didn't help.
One thing we noted that this is happening with Windows 2012 server OS only.
With windows 7 there is no issue.
Appreciate if anyone has solution for this
The maximise button has been disabled due to the "unexpected behavior" that it created, as documented under F5 Bug alias 421901 [RFE] 'Maximize' button of the browser window should restore full-screen RDP session (as in the native MS RDP client).
When it was enabled it had the habit of "maximising" the RDP session in the browser window and not actually the full screen resolution in Windows.
Microsoft have a shortcut of Ctrl + Alt + Break to maximse the RDP session

it doesn't seem there is a question to change it, if it bothers you enough and the workaround here aren't enough you can consider starting a RFE.

This is still an issue in 11.5.4 HF2. Not great for our remote access user experience.

the workaround is suppose to be using CTRL+ALT+BREAK switchs the window to full-screen

Unfortunately there is not a great fix but there is a workaround type fix.
If running 11.5.1 HF-6 or greater, 11.6.0 HF-4 or greater or 12.0.0 or greater you should be able to stop the restore down button from being displayed.
The 'Restore down' button can be hidden for full-screen RDP resources.
You can specify "showrestorebutton:i:0" in Custom Parameters for a remote desktop of the RDP type. The Restore down button will no longer display.
Hopefully this will help.

- markj_58101NimbostratusThanks for the response, I had managed to get it working by doing that but It's not really ideal though, reason being is that I have lots of users who access the system so none of them will know this. I wonder why it doesn't let you maximize it with the icon in the toolbar.
- TrudvangNimbostratusHave you tried Ctrl+Alt+Break?
