Can this i-rule be used in an LTM traffic policy in the manner shown:

    Yes you can, but I don't recommend you to do that. Using iRules sentences at policies don't give you any improvement than using iRules.

     

    The best option in your case is to use a request logging profile instead of an iRule. This will increase your performance.
