Can I load balance mx records based on topology on gtm?

We have several mail servers across the globe and I need to load balance a certain mx record based on the location of the query. So I need to know if I can load balance mx records based on topology on gtm?

Thanks

  • If your MX record references an FQDN, yes.

For example, if you have domain example.com, you could have an MX record configured pointing to mail.example.com. You could then configure a wide IP for mail.example.com and use topology based load balancing for that wide IP to distribute load as you see fit.
