BIQ 5

BIQ 5 is lacking lot of objects like - Source Address Translation, Creating custom monitors, custom pools etc. Besides I do not see stats collection of virtuals as we use to see in EM.

 

It would have been better if we could upload a template file in BIQ for vs, pools, nodes, monitor as per our need and later merge(Deploy) it the target device at scheduled time. Do we need to rely on REST for creating missing objects, via REST first create configs on BIQ and later deploy it to the target device.

    The configuration objects you mention are all on the roadmap. I'm happy to discuss our plans with you further under NDA. For objects that you can't create/manage on BIG-IQ, you will need to manage them directly on the BIG-IP, until they are supported in BIG-IQ. Feel free to contact me (koliver@f5.com) for more details.
