BIP IP Monitoring

I have two GTM's at our Datacenters acting as a loadbalancer and a gatway to the internet connecting to a pair of 50MB ethernet circuit to the internet. what i would like to do is setup some monitoring on the GTM's upstream to monitor the ISP routers or anything on the internet (maybe using irule?). the idea is when the upstream connection on one of GTM is down (cannot reach the ISP routers for example) then the other GTM should take over. Please advise what to do and also recommend something out there (internet) to monitor. thanks.

    problem solved.

     

    created fail-safe gateway between the GTM's and setup custom monitoring on the GTM's Gatway_ICMP monitoring (Monitor ISP Routers HSRP Addresses) and assigned Gateway_ICMP to the default route pool on the GTM's. All tested working fine.

     

    if any of the devices in the health monitor pool is down upstream the Standby GTM becomes the Active and vice versa
