Oct 16, 2012BigIP upgrade to latest version
Hey guys, I came across a very old BIGIP unit. it is version 3.2.3. I dont have the username/password so I will probably have to reset it. I have to 2 question.
- Can I upgrade this unit to the newest version? can someone please help or provide me the link and instructions.
- Can someone please send me some information on how to do a factory reset on this unit?
I apologize for the newbie questions/request but this is the first time I ever used bigip.

Hi Joseph,
3.x is ancient (~10 years old?). Do you mean 9.2.3 or 10.2.3?
Which platform do you have? If it's really old, you're probably better off buying a virtual edition to test with or a new hardware platform if you want to use it for production.

Aaron, it is ancient. I booted it and it states big/ip ver 3.2.3 PTF. - hoolio

Wow. I wouldn't bother doing anything with it. That platform won't run anything released in the past few years.
You can get a trial or full LTM lab virtual edition from an F5 or partner SE (www.f5.com/howtobuy) for testing or buy a hardware platform.

Won't be good for anything that. Out of interest is there a model number or anything like that? - josephl_46496

Where would a model number be? I don't see anything in the back or in front of the case. It looks exactly like the one the link.
