BigIP 4000s - removing partion - what will happen
Hi all, I have 3 partion - common, A and B. If i remove partition A and Partition B, what will happen to the current hard drive.
Im looking to just have the common drive and use Vlans but I am checking if i have to re install the OS and rebuild it or I can just move everything to the common drive.
regards Newbie

thanks for that, I have gone through that
and is it clear now?
anyway configuration partitions should not be confused with hard disk partitions. they have no effect on how the hard disk is being used, it is something for the configuration.

HI, thanks for that, and that's what I was getting confused about. now next step is to get my head around the route domains for the two partitions and they don't see each other. the common drive is used for HA with floating IPs I now have to remove two partitions and have all the config moved to the common drive
why do you want to do that? the partitions with associated route domains have probably been created for a reason. are you sure they aren't needed anymore?
unfortunately moving something from a partition isn't as easy as just changing the partition via the GUI. you will probably end up with removing element by element from the partition and recreating in the common partition.
you could try to get the text base config from the different .conf files and merge those together, but that requires some feeling about what you are doing.
if you are really just turned in the a environment with a common partition and two different config partitions into one without config partitions you could also just start from scratch.

Hi the reason is for the business as its not required anymore. yes they were created to keep the two partitions apart but not this is not required.
I don't have much configs on there so I have some time right now, but just have to make sure I can replicate it all into the common drive as this is in production.
Im concern as the HA is in the common drive, and no route partition in common drive route partitions are only in the two partition A and B
