Dec 10, 2008BIG IP 4.6.2 LOG
Hi,
I am looking through BIG IP 4.6.2 LOG. It is a LC 1000 unit.
Symptoms of problem is incoming traffic can't go through F5 to reach the DMZ.
End users will starts complaining that login to web mail from Internet doesn't work.
After I perform reboot, problem solve. This has been happening almost everyday for nearly a year.
Following are the typical message I see in the BIP IP LOG
Dec 5 03:24:50 lc_net last message repeated 2 times
Dec 5 03:24:48 lc_net kernel: denial vip in maintenance mode: 16*.14*.13*.19*:53 -> 2**.9*.3*.4*:3**34
Dec 5 03:22:03 lc_net kernel: denial vip in maintenance mode: 8*.6*.6*.1*:4***8 -> 2**.9*.3*.4*:5*
I keep having the mentioned message shows up in my log.
And everyday, I need to perform a reboot of the unit, so that incoming traffic can reach the dmz.
May I know the meaning of the LOG message? denial vip in maintenance mode. IP address is mask for privacy purpose

I'm not sure what would cause this. If you don't get an answer from someone else here, you might try opening a case with F5 Support. If you do find out the cause, you might reply here with the information for future reference.
