Best practices for migrating iapp services to another F5
There are 3 iApps which have to be moved to new BIGIP and am looking for inputs how to migrate these applications one at a time to the new devices. The virtual server IPs will be the same.
Existing F5 : BIG-IP VPR-C2400 Host : BIG-IP 11.5.3 Build 2.0.196 Hotfix HF2 Guest : BIG-IP 11.5.3 Build 2.0.196 Hotfix HF2
To be moved to : BIG-IP VPR-B2250 Host : BIG-IP 12.1.1 Build 2.0.204 Hotfix HF2 Guest : BIG-IP 11.5.3 Build 2.0.196 Hotfix HF2
Below is the action plan i have in mind:
- To migrate an iApp from one BigIP to another we will redeploy the iApp template on the new device.
- The iApp will create all the corresponding Virtual Servers, Pool, Pool members, profiles etc.
- The SSL certificate will not be duplicated and we will have to copy the existing certificate of the websites and upload them on the new devices in file management and call it in the client profile.
- The routes have to be checked and if and any missing routes have to be added.
Looking for more inputs and suggestions. Thanks!

Are you migrating the entire config?
Your best option is to do a UCS archive, and a UCS restore with the no-platform-check flag. The config will restore but it will not load as there will be interface config conflicts. But you can edit the config manually at that point to fix the interface configs.

Hi Ekaleido, No am plannning to migrate the iApp one at a time (one week one app). Not all the iApps at once. Thanks
