Feb 26, 2013Basic monitoring question?
very basic question, how do I change the management IP of the LTM remotely? what are the commands? and if something goes wrong how can I recover remotely? I have a BIG-IP 11.2.1 Build 862.0 Hotfix HF2 version.
Regards,
Nikhil

you may also have to delete management-route (please make sure you are not connecting to management-ip when changing it).
by the way, why don't you change it through gui?
e.g.root@(ve11a)(cfg-sync Changes Pending)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) delete sys management-ip all root@(ve11a)(cfg-sync Changes Pending)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) create sys management-ip 192.168.1.11/24 root@(ve11a)(cfg-sync Changes Pending)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) list sys management-ip sys management-ip 192.168.1.11/24 { } - Nikhil_Kulkarni

Thanks nitass,
I am not sure if you can change the management IP through the GUI...or is it something that is available in this version?
My major problem is that this device is configured remotely and I only have the access to this via the management IP. :)
Hence wondering how best I can do this.

i do not think u can change management ip while accessing it. can't you access via selfip?
additionally, you may have to update device information in device management e.g. update device trust. - What_Lies_Bene1

The AOM may help if you need a backup should you lose connectivity to the management IP, however, it would need to be configured with an IP in the same range as the management IP.
