You need to provide a bit more info to get a decent answer. IIUC what you want, then the easiest way to see if the F5 is balancing against the 'wrong' instance, look in your 'instance' logs...

 

 

However you don't say

 

 

1. What sort of protocol this is

 

2. What sort of monitors you have in place

 

 

(At a minimum).
