Autodiscover Health Monitor

Has anyone ever created a custom health monitor for the autodiscover service? We are having some issues with it and our MS team has asked us to create a monitor that does a get /autodiscover/autodiscover.xml to determine if each individual member is serving xml and not just responding with an error, but I have not been able to maake this work. Sorry if this has been addressed, but I could not find anything.
