Auto Last hop

Hi Everyone, I wanted to redirect the Virtual server to a set of pools throwing the webpages in case the actual servers in the pool are down. Under virtual I saw the option auto last hop and the last hop pool. Is it used for the same purpose or what is the user of this option and how can I achieve my requirement in case its not possible in this way.
